Machine Operator
A masonry machine operator runs and maintains machinery used in producing masonry products such as bricks and blocks. They set up and adjust the scaffold to prepare the next wall for masons. The operator must have a good understanding of machine operation and safety protocols, as well as the ability to troubleshoot problems that may arise during production. Additionally, they must be able to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors and other team members.
Mason Tender
A mason tender, also known as a masonry laborer, is responsible for assisting masons in all aspects of the construction process. This may include mixing and carrying materials, setting up scaffolding, preparing and cleaning job sites, and assisting with the installation of bricks, blocks, and other materials. The mason tender must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and follow safety protocols. They work closely with masons to ensure that the job site is clean and organized and that all materials are readily available for use.
Mason (bricklayer)
As a mason, your responsibility is to create and repair structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. They work in a team to complete projects with time efficiency and quality craftsmanship, requiring technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and building codes.
You will be part of a team responsible for completing projects on time and to the highest quality standards. Communication, collaboration, and coordination with other team members is key to ensuring efficient progress and minimizing mistakes or delays.
In addition to the physical aspects of the job, you will also be required to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications, lay out patterns, and cut bricks to fit irregular spaces.
